Autumn Festival
On Saturday and Sunday, 24-25 October, 2009, in Jesolo Paese, the 6th Festa d’Autunno will take place, organized by the Jesolo City Council Office for Manufacturing and Production, with the Jesolo Tourist Board and the cooperation of Il Gradino Association, the committee and the shops of the historical center.
The opening is Saturday, 24 October, at 2 p.m., in Piazza I Maggio, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony before local officials.
Returning with the Festa d’Autunno will also be Sucarin, the sprite who was born in the roots of a pear tree. During the days of the festival, the restaurateurs will offer dishes based on pears with an IGP brand. A new version of Sucarin’s cake is also expected.
The event has offerings for both young and old along the streets and in the squares of the city’s center, that will be transformed into a large area hosting a market fair with handicrafts, exhibitions, music, dance and entertainment for everyone.
For boys and girls especially:
- fairy tale readings and workshop activities in Piazza I Maggio
- amusements in Piazza Kennedy, the normal location of the weekly market
- children’s introduction to riding – at the city park on the Sile River.
For everyone, in Rimembranza Park, next to the town hall, an area to experiment with
- the setting-up of two teepees with an exhibition on American Indians
- a display of falcons and an opportunity to hold a bird of prey on a gloved hand
- fire exhibitions by the Associazione Drago Bianco
- tango performance
In addition, the Tourist Board will set up in the Council Hall an exhibition of historical costumes from 1200.
On Sunday, 25 October, 2009, there will be two events not to be missed: at 2:30 p.m. the start of the Festa d’Autunno (Autumn Festival) Regatta on the Sile River while at 3:30 p.m., there will be an exhibition of birds of prey in flight organized by the falconry school in Marostica. An enogastronomic stand will be open evenings from Friday to Sunday and at midday on Sunday with typical Venetian dishes.
Distributed along the exhibition route will be exhibitions and shows by stilt-walkers and musical entertainment.
